The Scottish Rangers Football Club has announced the appointment of former Premier League coach, John McGinn, as their new manager.
McGinn, who spent seven years in the Premier League with clubs like West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth, will take over from Steven Gerrard, who recently resigned from his role after being sacked by Rangers.
In a statement released by Rangers, the club's chairman, Stewart Rusk, said that McGinn is "a proven winner" and that he is excited to have him join the team.
"The board of directors have thoroughly researched and evaluated all candidates for this position and we are delighted to announce that John McGinn is our new manager," Rusk said.
McGinn, who was born in Northern Ireland but moved to Scotland at a young age, has been praised for his ability to work well with players of different nationalities and backgrounds.
He also has experience managing teams in Europe, having previously worked as a manager in the Scottish Championship with Partick Thistle and as a player-coach with Hibernian.
The move comes as Rangers look to bounce back from a difficult season under Gerrard, which saw them finish bottom of the Scottish Premiership table.
With McGinn on board, Rangers fans are hopeful that they can make a strong start to next season and secure a return to the top flight of Scottish football.
