The deal is said to be worth €35 million, with Chelsea reportedly paying €24 million in cash plus the remaining €11 million in add-ons. The fee is believed to be one of the highest ever paid by a Premier League club for a player.

Aubameyang has been at Chelsea since January 2018, but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under manager Maurizio Sarri. He made just six appearances for the Blues last season before being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Lille, meanwhile, were keen to offload Aubameyang after he failed to make an impact during his time at the Stade de France. The French club had also received interest from other clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

The sale of Aubameyang will be a significant boost for Chelsea's squad, which was hit hard by the departure of star striker Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid. The Blues now have a strong midfield option in the shape of Ross Barkley and N'Golo Kante, while the addition of Aubameyang could provide added depth and creativity in attack.

Overall, it seems that both sides have come out on top in this transaction, with Chelsea receiving a proven goal scorer and Lille receiving a player who can help them compete for major honours. It remains to be seen whether Aubameyang will be able to replicate his form at Stamford Bridge, but his arrival should certainly give Chelsea fans something to look forward to next season.
